Shaivi Patel, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and refractive cataract surgeon from Wilmington, Delaware. She joined Delaware Eye Care Center in 2024 and is excited to return to her hometown to care for patients.
Dr. Patel graduated summa cum laude from the University of Delaware and earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. After medical school, she finished a preliminary medicine internship at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania and completed her residency training in ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Patel is trained in comprehensive ophthalmology. She specializes in refractive cataract surgery, including laser-assisted cataract surgery and premium intraocular lenses that correct presbyopia and astigmatism, as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She is committed to providing patients the best in medical and surgical care, and values being at the forefront of the latest technologies and treatments. She is a member of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Outside of the office, Dr. Patel enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
